Telangana Faces Heavy to Extremely Heavy Rainfall July 30-31
The Indian Meteorological Department warned that Telangana will get a lot of rain on July 30 and 31.
Some districts like Adilabad and Nizamabad might get very heavy rain and strong winds up to 50 kilometers per hour.
Most other districts will see lighter showers.
The rain is coming because a big storm in the Bay of Bengal is moving toward the area.
Last year, Telangana got more rain, but this year it has been missing about 49 centimeters of rain because of a climate pattern called El Niño.
Indian Meteorological Department issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall across Telangana on July 30–31.
Isolated districts such as Adilabad, Nizamabad, and Nirmal are expected to receive very heavy rainfall with winds up to 50 km/h.
Light to moderate showers are likely in most districts, easing slightly on July 31.
Forecast includes strong surface winds 30–50 km/h, with isolated pockets of 40–50 km/h.
Rainfall deficit of 49 cm in June–July attributed to El Niño, with 33.3 cm recorded last year.
