Kuwaki Wins Women’s Open After Playoff
Shiho Kuwaki, a golfer from Japan, played a big tournament called the Women’s Open at a golf club in England.
She and a German player, Esther Henseleit, finished the regular rounds with the same score, so they had to play extra holes to decide the winner.
On the second extra hole, Henseleit missed a shot that would have kept her even, and Kuwaki made a good shot that won the match.
This was the second time a Japanese player has won this tournament in a row.
Other players like Yealimi Noh and Nelly Korda also played well, but they didn’t win.
Shiho Kuwaki won the 2024 Women’s Open after a playoff against Esther Henseleit.
The playoff finished on the second extra hole when Henseleit missed a par and Kuwaki made a par.
Kuwaki’s victory marks the second consecutive Japanese champion at the event, following Miyu Yamashita.
Yealimi Noh finished third, while world number one Nelly Korda tied for fourth.
The tournament featured strong performances from German, South Korean, and other international players.
