HMDA to auction prime Kokapet land for Rs 3,000-5,000 crore
There is a big organization called HMDA that takes care of a large city called Hyderabad.
HMDA owns pieces of land in the city.
It sells some of that land to people who want to build homes or offices.
Before selling, HMDA holds an auction, where buyers compete and offer money.
The land in an area called Kokapet is very expensive, with one acre priced as high as Rs 120 crore.
HMDA wants to earn Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 crore from this new round of selling.
The money will be used to build roads, water lines, and other things the city needs.
HMDA has done this before and earned over Rs 1,000 crore in December 2025.
The new auctions will happen in late August and early September.
This way, the city can get new infrastructure without spending its own savings.
HMDA will hold a fresh e-auction of prime land parcels and residential layouts to generate Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 crore for infrastructure works.
Auctions cover the Neopolis layout (offset price Rs 120 crore per acre) and Golden Mile layout (Rs 70 crore per acre) in Kokapet.
A December 2025 auction of Neopolis land generated over Rs 1,000 crore, with parcels sold at Rs 131 crore and Rs 118 crore per acre.
HMDA fetched around Rs 3,708 crore from three earlier auctions.
Auctions will run between August 24 and September 9, with the Neopolis (4.59 acres) and Golden Mile (0.70 acres) parcels auctioned on September 9.
