Indian Railways' High-Speed Test Track Near Completion
Indian Railways is building its first high-speed test track for trains.
This track is almost done and will be fully ready by March 2026.
It is located between two places called Gudha and Thathana Mithri, near Jaipur.
The track is 64 kilometers long and cost Rs 967 crore to build.
Trains will be tested here to see if they can go as fast as 220 kilometers per hour.
This will help make sure the trains are safe and work well.
The track is being built by a group called RDSO, which is part of Indian Railways.
Another project to improve train tracks near Udaipur was also approved by the Railway Minister.
Indian Railways' first dedicated high-speed test track is nearing completion, with a target date of March 2026.
The 64 km track is located between Gudha and Thathana Mithri in the Jodhpur Division, about 70 km from Jaipur.
The project is being developed by the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) at a cost of Rs 967 crore.
The track will support a maximum speed of 220 kmph for comprehensive testing of rolling stock.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw approved the doubling of the 25-km-long Umra–Debari railway section to improve connectivity to Udaipur.
