Iran Seeks June MoU Revival as Hormuz Conditions Emerge

Iran and the United States had an agreement connected to a ceasefire and the Strait of Hormuz.

The agreement was signed on June 17, but it later broke down.

Iran now wants the United States to return to that agreement and keep its promises.

Iran also says rules about the strait must be followed.

Pakistan is trying to help the two countries talk to each other.

A reported US proposal would reduce a naval blockade and sanctions if Iran fully reopened the strait.

The proposal also reportedly asked Iran to stop attacks by groups aligned with it.

Pakistani officials said their discussions in Tehran made significant progress, but no final deal was announced.
