CBSE Withdraws Affiliation of Jaipur School
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken a serious step by withdrawing the senior secondary affiliation of a school in Jaipur.
This decision comes after a very sad event where a 9-year-old girl in Class IV died by falling from the fourth floor of the school building.
The CBSE found that the school did not follow important safety rules, like having safety grills on high floors, proper CCTV cameras, or a good counselling system to help students.
The school also cleaned up the area where the girl fell very quickly, which might have removed important clues.
Because of these mistakes, the CBSE said the school is not safe for students and took away its permission to teach senior secondary classes.
Current students in Classes X and XII can still study there, but other students will have to go to different schools.
The school can ask to be allowed to teach again, but only after making all the necessary safety improvements.
CBSE withdrew the senior secondary affiliation of Neerja Modi School in Jaipur due to severe safety violations following a student's suicide.
The school was found to have lacked safety grills, effective CCTV surveillance, and a functional counselling mechanism.
The CBSE order noted that the school tampered with potential forensic evidence by cleaning the bloodstained area immediately after the incident.
Current Class X and XII students can continue at the school, but Class IX and XI students must be shifted to nearby schools by March 31, 2026.
The school can apply for restoration of affiliation up to the secondary level from the 2027-28 academic session, with senior secondary affiliation possible only after two additional years.
