Mumbai Hospital Faces Diagnostic Delays Amid Shortages
A new hospital in Mumbai called MT Agrawal Hospital is having problems.
It only has one machine and one doctor to do sonography, which is a test to look inside the body.
Because of this, people have to wait a long time, sometimes up to 20 days, to get this test done.
This is especially hard for pregnant women and people who need urgent care.
The hospital is also getting more patients because two other nearby hospitals have their sonography services not working.
Some leaders visited the hospital and said they will try to fix these problems so people can get the care they need.
MT Agrawal Hospital in Mulund, Mumbai, faces long delays for sonography appointments due to limited diagnostic facilities.
The hospital has only one sonography machine and one radiologist, causing wait times of 15–20 days.
Emergency cases and pregnant women are given priority, but many others face significant delays.
Additional pressure comes from patients referred from Veer Savarkar Municipal Hospital and Seven Rasta Municipal Hospital, where sonography services are non-functional.
Opposition leaders have visited the hospital and promised to address the infrastructure and manpower issues.
