Assam Cabinet to Decide on SIT Report on Gogoi's Pakistan Links

The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, said that the state cabinet will decide on February 7 what to do about a report that looks into Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi's alleged connections with Pakistan.

The report, made by a special investigation team, claims that Gogoi and his British wife have direct links with Pakistan.

The cabinet will decide whether to send the report to central agencies like the NIA or continue the investigation locally.

On February 8, Sarma will hold a press conference to share most of the findings with the public.

Gogoi has called Sarma's accusations ridiculous and baseless, questioning his mental state.

The BJP and the Congress are in a heated political battle in Assam.
