Delhi Tests Emission-Reducing Devices for Older Vehicles
The Delhi government is trying out a new way to help older cars pass emission rules.
They're testing special devices that can be added to old cars to clean up their exhaust.
This device uses something called a catalytic converter and can filter a lot of the bad stuff from the air.
The government is testing this out on some of its own cars to see if it works well.
If it does, these devices could help keep older cars on the road by reducing pollution.
Delhi government is testing retrofit devices to reduce emissions from older vehicles.
The pilot project uses catalytic converters to filter air particles by 70%.
The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) leads the project.
IIT Delhi and ICAT are providing research support.
The experiment involves testing the devices on 30 government vehicles.
