Dallas Mavericks Planning New Arena Exit from AAC
The Dallas Mavericks, a basketball team, are planning to move out of their current arena, the American Airlines Center, after 2031.
They want to build a new arena just for basketball games, unlike their current arena which hosts other events.
This move is being led by team CEO, Rick Welts, who has experience with similar projects.
Meanwhile, the Dallas Stars, a hockey team, will stay at the current arena.
The Mavericks want to control more of their game-day experience with the new arena.
The arena might also include shops and restaurants, like other successful sports venues.
Dallas Mavericks plan to relocate from American Airlines Center (AAC) after 2031.
The Mavericks' new arena will be exclusively for basketball, unlike the current multi-use AAC.
The Dallas Stars (NHL) intend to stay at the AAC.
Rick Welts, team CEO, is overseeing the project, drawing on experience from the Chase Center.
