Ukraine offers Russia proposal to halt Black Sea civilian attacks
Ukraine and Russia are two countries that grow a lot of the world's food.
They are fighting, and they have been attacking each other's ships in the Black Sea.
This is scary for people around the world, because it could make food harder to get.
Ukraine said it sent Russia a plan to stop attacking civilian ships and ports.
Russia says it never received such a plan.
Many ships stopped going to Ukraine's port of Odesa because they were afraid.
Ukraine had to use different routes to send out its grain.
Russia also had problems, because its port of Novorossiysk stopped working for a day after an attack.
When people heard about Ukraine's plan, the price of wheat in Europe went down.
Both countries blame each other for the attacks.
Ukraine reportedly offered Russia a proposal to halt attacks on civilian targets in the Black Sea, conveyed through a third party.
The proposal came amid a surge in strikes on vessels and ports that raised concerns over global food supplies.
Russian strikes on dozens of vessels made shipowners increasingly wary of calling at Ukrainian ports, including Odesa.
A Ukrainian attack suspended operations at all three terminals at Russia's Novorossiysk port on Aug 13, with Moscow expected to further reduce grain exports.
Russia said it had not received any formal ceasefire proposal, and European wheat prices fell from a two-week high after the report emerged.
