BJP Leader Accuses Bengal Government Over Fire
A big fire happened in a place called Nazirabad in West Bengal on January 26.
Many people died, and some are still missing.
The leader of the opposition, Suvendu Adhikari from the BJP, went to see the area but couldn't go very close because of some rules.
He said the government didn't do enough to help and that the actual death toll might be higher.
The government says the BJP is trying to make the situation political.
The police are still looking for more people and trying to find out what caused the fire.
The Chief Minister announced compensation for the families of the victims but did not visit the site.
Suvendu Adhikari visited the fire-hit Nazirabad area but was stopped by police due to prohibitory orders.
Adhikari accused the state government of negligence and hiding the truth about the fire, alleging the actual death toll could be between 35 and 40.
The death toll from the fire has risen to 21, with 28 people still missing and 25 body parts recovered.
The TMC government accused the BJP of attempting to politicize the tragedy and announced compensation for the victims' families.
Search and recovery operations are ongoing, with several structures gutted or partially collapsed, and identification of remains proving challenging.
