South Korean Minister Pushes Tech Innovation and Supply Chain Cooperation
South Korea's finance minister said it's very important for countries to work together and come up with new ideas to help the economy grow.
He mentioned that the world's way of making and moving things is changing, which is tricky for countries like South Korea that rely on open trade.
To help with this, South Korea is working with other countries to make sure it can get important things it needs, like special minerals.
Also, South Korea and the United States have agreed on a big deal where South Korea will invest $350 billion in the U.S. This investment includes money for building ships together.
In return for this investment, the U.S. will lower some of its taxes on goods from South Korea.
South Korean Finance Minister Koo Yun-cheol emphasized technological innovation and supply chain cooperation for new growth opportunities.
He spoke at a Seoul conference addressing Asia's challenges amid deepening Sino-U.S. tensions.
The minister highlighted the importance of working with major trading partners to secure stable supply chains, especially for critical minerals.
South Korea and the U.S. signed an MOU for a $350 billion investment pledge in exchange for reduced U.S. tariffs.
