Tractor Sales Dip in July, Reflecting Seasonal Trends
Tractor sales went down in July compared to June, but were still higher than July of the previous year.
This happens every year as farmers usually buy tractors after harvests.
Companies slow down sending tractors to stores to control how many tractors stores have.
Even though sales dropped compared to June, the demand for tractors is still good because more tractors were sold in July than the year before.
This is because the monsoon season was good, and farmers were starting to plant crops.
Tractor sales declined nearly 40% in July, totaling 72,797 units.
Sales in July 2025 were up 8% compared to July 2024 figures.
Major companies reported month-on-month declines in tractor sales in July.
Mahindra & Mahindra saw a 46% MoM decline but a 5% YoY increase.
Experts attribute the drop to inventory management and seasonal patterns.
