Leak Shows Meta’s Sleek Phoenix Mixed-Reality Headset Design
Pictures of a secret Meta headset have appeared online.
The headset is called Phoenix in reports, although that may not be its final name.
It looks more like a thin pair of glasses than a large virtual reality headset.
It may have special removable lenses for people who wear glasses.
The pictures also show a QR code that could help with setup.
A cable may connect the headset to a separate computer unit.
Cameras would show the outside world on screens instead of letting users see through clear lenses.
Meta has not officially announced the product, so the details could change.
Leaked images reportedly show Meta’s Phoenix headset with a slim, glasses-style frame and independent nose pads.
The images appeared in a Horizon OS Prescription Lens package after a September update.
Removable prescription inserts are shown attaching in front of the headset’s lenses, with a QR code apparently used during setup.
Reports suggest Phoenix will use cameras and screens to recreate the outside world rather than transparent lenses.
The headset’s final name, price, launch date, and full specifications remain unconfirmed, while an external processing unit may connect by cable.
