Premier Energies Launches ₹3,293-Crore Andhra Solar Cell Facility
Premier Energies has started using a large new factory in Andhra Pradesh, India.
The factory makes solar cells, which are important parts of solar panels.
It can produce 7 gigawatts of solar cells.
This increases the company’s total solar cell capacity to 10.6 gigawatts.
The factory covers 101 acres and cost ₹3,293 crore to develop.
It uses N-type TOPCon technology, which can help solar modules produce more power.
The plant is designed to make about 88,000 cells every hour.
The company also plans to make ingots and wafers so it can control more steps in solar manufacturing.
Premier Energies commissioned a 7 GW N-type TOPCon G12R solar cell facility in Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh.
The 101-acre plant was developed with a capital expenditure of ₹3,293 crore.
The project raises Premier Energies’ total solar cell manufacturing capacity to 10.6 GW.
The company says the facility is India’s largest solar cell manufacturing plant and can produce about 88,000 cells per hour.
Premier Energies is also setting up 10 GW each of solar ingot and wafer capacity.
