SECI to Finalize Tender for Green Ammonia Production
India is working on a cleaner way to make fertilizer.
Right now, making fertilizer uses fuels that cause pollution.
The government wants to use renewable energy like solar to make a clean version called green ammonia.
The government is offering money to help companies.
A state-owned company called SECI is finding companies to do this.
They will buy the green ammonia from these companies and send it to fertilizer plants.
This helps the environment and makes sure fertilizer is made in India.
SECI is finalizing a tender for 7,24,000 tonnes of green ammonia production annually.
The ammonia will be supplied to 13 fertilizer plants.
The project aims to reduce emissions by using renewable energy.
SECI will provide market certainty with 10-year offtake agreements.
The government offers financial incentives under the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
