Aditya Birla Shares Fall Amid Block Deals

On January 20, shares of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd.

(ABFRL) and Aditya Birla Lifestyle Brands Ltd.

(ABLBL) fell sharply due to large block deals.

For ABFRL, about 3.57% of the company's shares were sold at an average price of ₹66.4 per share, totaling ₹289 crore.

This caused the share price to drop by up to 9%.

Similarly, around 2.8% of ABLBL's shares were involved in a block deal worth $43 million at a floor price of ₹106.14 per share, an 8.4% discount.

Both transactions were described as clean-out trades, meaning the sellers are fully exiting their investments.

The identities of the buyers and sellers remain undisclosed.

Previously, Flipkart Investments sold a 6% stake in ABLBL in October for ₹998 crore at a 7% discount.

Analysts suggest that ABFRL's share price may bounce back toward the 73 to 78 resistance band due to short covering and tactical buying, but the overall structure remains fragile.
