BRICS WAVES Bazaar 2026 concludes in Mumbai with co-production deals

The BRICS WAVES Bazaar was a big meeting in Mumbai, India, for people who make movies, TV shows, cartoons and video games.

It lasted two days and ended on a Friday.

Around 900 people from 20 countries came to talk and work together.

They held more than 275 business meetings so people from different countries could become partners.

India and Brazil agreed to work more closely on movies, and Brazil will join next year's WAVES event too.

India also announced it is working with Russia's big film archive.

New movies were announced, including one made by India and Portugal and one made by India and Russia.

A new group called the BRICS Independent Producers Alliance was started to help producers across BRICS stay connected.

Countries also talked about a new Global South Film Festival for 2027.

The big idea was for countries to make creative things together and become better friends through art.
