Maharashtra Tantrik Accused Of Assault During Ritual; Three Arrested
A family was worried because the woman’s husband kept having health problems.
They believed the problems were caused by something called ‘Grah Dosh.’
They asked a man who called himself a ‘Maharaj’ to perform a religious ritual.
Police say he asked the husband to leave the house during the ritual.
They allege that he then sexually assaulted the woman.
Police arrested the man and two alleged associates.
The three men are in police custody while the investigation continues.
The case has raised concerns about people using superstition to exploit families seeking help.
A 27-year-old married woman in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district was allegedly sexually assaulted during a puja.
Police said the accused, Shubham Latari Khangar, posed as a ‘Maharaj’ and promised a ritual to address her husband’s health problems.
