PFC Launches Third Public NCD Issue
Power Finance Corporation (PFC) is launching its third public issue of bonds to raise money.
They plan to collect up to ₹5,000 crore.
This is their first zero-coupon bond issue, which means the investment will grow significantly over time without paying regular interest.
The bonds have different lengths of time you can invest for, like 5, 10, or 15 years.
PFC is a big company that helps finance India's power projects.
They have already financed almost half of India's power capacity and have a large loan book.
Their previous bond issues were very popular, showing that investors trust them.
The money raised will help support India's power sector, which is important for the country's growth.
PFC launched its third public issue of secured, redeemable non-convertible debentures to raise up to ₹5,000 crore.
The issue includes a zero-coupon bond option, a first for a PSU in the public bond market in 2026.
Subscription opens on January 16, 2026, and closes on January 30, 2026, with a base issue size of ₹500 crore and a green-shoe option up to ₹5,000 crore.
The bonds offer tenures of 5, 10, and 15 years, with options for cumulative interest or zero-coupon investments.
PFC has financed nearly 50% of India's installed power capacity, with a loan asset book of ₹5.61 lakh crore as of September 2025 and a profit of ₹8,900 crore in the first half of the current financial year.
