Karnataka EC Reports 84,900 Form 7 Voter Deletion Applications

Karnataka is checking and updating its voter lists.

Officials received 84,900 requests using Form 7, which can be used to object to a name or ask for a name to be removed.

The Election Commission says none of these requests objected to adding a name.

Officials have sent more than 43 lakh notices to voters and completed most of the related hearings.

Congress leaders say some Form 7 requests may have been misused to remove eligible voters.

They have asked for a police case and an investigation.

Election officials said people who knowingly provide false information may face legal action.

The Election Commission says the voter-list review is following the law.

Voters who cannot find their names in the same list section can search using their voter ID number.
