Father and Stepmother Arrested for Attempted Murder of Infant
A father and his first wife were arrested for trying to kill his 7-month-old daughter.
The father, Teku Sathish, had a daughter with his second wife, Sandhya, who is the sister of his first wife, Sanku Shailaja.
After Sathish and Sandhya divorced, village elders decided the child should stay with her father.
Sathish and Shailaja allegedly took the baby to some bushes, hurt her badly with a blade, and left her there.
The next day, they told villagers the baby was missing and might have been taken by stray dogs.
The baby was found alive but hurt and is now in the hospital.
The police arrested the two after investigating and finding evidence.
