India GDP Growth May Slow to 6.8% in FY27: Report

GDP is a number that shows how much a country's economy produced, like a report card for the whole country.

A report from a rating agency says India's economy will grow by about 6.8 percent in the coming year.

That is good, because it means the economy is still growing, but it is a bit slower than it could be.

The report says growth will be between 6.6 and 6.9 percent in different parts of the year.

Two things are causing worry.

One is a crisis in West Asia, which can make trade harder.

The other is El Nino, a weather pattern that can make food prices go up.

The report also watched oil prices, which India needs to buy from other countries.

Cheaper oil can help India spend less money on imports.

But if El Nino makes prices inside India go up, it can wipe out the benefit of cheaper oil.
