Telangana Mandates TDR for High-Rises
The Telangana government has made a new rule that buildings taller than 10 floors must use something called TDR (Transferable Development Rights) for 10% of the extra floors above the 10th floor.
This means that if you build a very tall building, you have to use TDR for some of those extra floors.
The government is doing this to make sure that people who give up their land for things like lake protection or river development get fair compensation.
It also helps to make the TDR market stronger.
Experts say this might make it easier to control how tall buildings can be and will help landowners get better deals when their land is needed for public projects.
Telangana mandates 10% TDR usage for high-rise buildings above 10 floors.
TDR is required only for floors constructed above the 10th level.
The rule aims to strengthen the TDR market and ensure better compensation for landowners.
Landowners within FTL and buffer zones can get 300% TDR on built-up area.
Land parcels outside buffer zones needed for lake, river, or nala development get 400% TDR compensation.
