Rukmini Vasanth gifts mechanical elephant to Ujjaini Peetha
Rukmini Vasanth, a famous actor, and two animal rights groups, PETA India and CUPA, gave a big mechanical elephant named Mahanandi to a temple called Ujjaini Peetha in Karnataka.
The temple decided not to use real elephants for their ceremonies anymore.
Instead, they will use this mechanical elephant to keep the ceremonies safe and kind to animals.
Many important people, like members of parliament and the temple's leaders, were there to see the mechanical elephant being unveiled.
They all said it was a great idea because it lets people worship in a way that doesn't hurt animals.
The temple's leader even encouraged other temples to do the same.
Everyone was happy because it shows that traditions can be kept alive without causing harm to animals.
Rukmini Vasanth, PETA India, and CUPA donated a life-size mechanical elephant named Mahanandi to Ujjaini Peetha in Karnataka.
