Telangana Draft Electoral Rolls Draw Frustration Over Difficult Checks
Telangana has published a new draft list of registered voters.
People are trying to check whether their names are still included.
However, the checking system requires them to find the right constituency, polling station and PDF file.
Some PDFs are pictures, so users cannot easily search them by name.
The national voter website can search using an EPIC number, but not in these new draft lists.
Lists of people marked absent, shifted, dead or duplicated are only available in Telugu.
This makes checking difficult for some voters.
People can still submit corrections or objections until September 16.
Telangana released draft electoral rolls after completing the Special Intensive Revision exercise.
Voters must navigate Assembly constituencies, polling stations and parts before downloading relevant PDF rolls.
Many PDFs are image-based, making standard text searches such as “Ctrl+F” ineffective.
The national voter portal’s EPIC search does not include the newly released draft rolls.
ASDD lists are available only in Telugu, while claims and objections remain open until September 16.
