SAEL commissions 800 MW solar plant in Gujarat
SAEL Industries has started a big new solar power plant in Gujarat.
This plant can make 800 MW of electricity, which is a lot!
The plant is in a place called Khavda, which is known for having salty soil and floods during the rainy season.
The company used special solar panels made in their own factories in Punjab and Rajasthan.
The electricity from this plant will be sold to a company in Gujarat for 25 years.
SAEL is also planning to build even more solar panels in the future in a place called Noida.
This is all part of their plan to make more clean energy.
SAEL Industries commissioned an 800 MW solar power project at Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat.
The project was developed through two subsidiaries, each with a capacity of 400 MW (500 MWp).
Power from the plant will be sold under a 25-year power purchase agreement with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL).
The project uses over 1.5 million TOPCon bifacial solar modules, with 60% assembled at SAEL's facilities in Punjab and Rajasthan.
SAEL is expanding its renewable energy portfolio, including plans for a 5 GW solar manufacturing facility in Noida.
