UP Tourism Promotes Rural Tourism
The Uttar Pradesh Tourism department is running a campaign to tell people about a special scheme.
This scheme lets people turn their homes into places for tourists to stay, like a bed and breakfast.
The campaign will teach locals about the benefits and help them sign up.
The government has set aside money for this campaign.
The idea is to give tourists a cheaper and more cultural place to stay while also helping local people earn money.
This is especially useful during big events like the Mahakumbh and Deepotsav.
Additionally, the department will honor villages, rural homestays, and farm stays that strengthen tourism through cultural preservation, community participation, and responsible practices on National Tourism Day 2026.
UP Tourism is conducting a statewide awareness campaign for its Homestay and Bed & Breakfast Scheme from January 14 to 30.
The campaign aims to educate locals about the scheme's benefits and issue registration certificates to eligible applicants.
Each district has been allocated ₹2 lakh for awareness programs and promotional materials.
The scheme allows residents to convert their homes into homestays, offering tourists affordable accommodations and cultural experiences.
Key districts like Mathura, Varanasi, Lucknow, Prayagraj, and Ayodhya are the primary focus of the campaign.
