Employers Must File July ECR, Deposit PF by August 15

Employers Must File July ECR, Deposit PF by August 15

The Employees' Provident Fund, or EPF, is a savings pot that helps workers save money for when they retire.

Many salaried workers put a little money into this pot every month.

Their employers also put in some money for them.

The EPFO is the organisation that looks after this money.

Once a month, employers have to send a report called the ECR to the EPFO.

The report lists how much money each worker contributed.

Employers also have to pay the money at the same time.

This time, the EPFO says employers must do both by August 15.

If they are late, they may have to pay extra money as interest or damages.

When everyone pays on time, workers' savings get updated quickly and grow with interest.
