Clinic ordered to refund patient for USG delay
A lady from Ghatakpur went to a clinic in New Town for a special scan called a USG.
She had to wait a long time, and by the time it was her turn, she couldn't do the scan because she needed to use the bathroom.
The clinic was told to give her back the money she paid and say they're sorry.
This happens a lot in clinics, where people have to wait too long for their turns.
The clinic said they tried their best, but there were too many patients that day.
The lady also had a tummy ache, which made it harder for her to wait.
The people in charge of making sure clinics are fair said the clinic should have known she wouldn't be able to wait that long.
A diagnostic clinic in New Town was ordered to refund a patient and apologize after a delay made her USG impossible.
The patient traveled 25km and was the 12th in the queue, but delays prevented the procedure from being completed.
The clinic cited a heavy load of 19 appointments and the patient's medical condition as reasons for the delay.
The state health regulatory commission directed the clinic to refund ₹2,100 and issue an apology.
Long waits for medical procedures are a common issue in Kolkata's private healthcare sector.
