IAF Pushes for Open Architecture in EW Systems

IAF Pushes for Open Architecture in EW Systems

The Indian Air Force held a special meeting called the 'Spectrum' conference.

They talked about making their electronic warfare systems, which are used to detect and block enemy signals, better and cheaper.

The main idea is to use an 'open architecture,' which means different companies can easily add new technology to these systems.

This is like using building blocks that can be swapped out to make a toy stronger or add new features.

Air Marshal Vijay Kumar Garg, a high-ranking officer, explained that this approach would help the systems stay up-to-date, cost less to improve, and be delivered faster.

They also want to work with universities and Indian companies to create these new parts.

Air Commodore V Krishna Kumar pointed out specific areas where companies and schools can help develop these systems.
