India Leads Growth Outlook as Economist Optimism Rises to 74%

Economists study how countries’ economies may perform in the future.

A World Economic Forum survey asked chief economists about India’s growth.

About 74% expected India to have strong or very strong growth in the next year.

This was the highest optimism among the economies included in the survey.

In May, only 52% had expected similarly strong growth.

That means confidence rose by 22 percentage points.

The new results were published in the September 2026 Chief Economists’ Outlook.

The report shows that economists became more hopeful about India’s economic future.
