BBC Content Chief Defends Handling of Wallace Complaints

BBC Content Chief Defends Handling of Wallace Complaints

The new boss of BBC content, Kate Phillips, is talking about how she handled complaints about Gregg Wallace before he was fired from MasterChef.

In 2017, someone complained about Wallace's behavior, including claims of sexist remarks.

An investigation found that Wallace apologized for using inappropriate language.

Phillips says she acted quickly when she was told about it.

She says she did what she thought was right at the time.

Phillips also wants people who work for the BBC to feel safe speaking up about bad behavior.

Wallace and his co-host have left MasterChef after two decades.

Despite the situation, the BBC plans to continue showing the show.
