SEBI Clears NSE IPO, Advancing Long-Awaited Stock Exchange Listing

SEBI Clears NSE IPO, Advancing Long-Awaited Stock Exchange Listing

The National Stock Exchange of India wants to sell some of its shares to the public.

This process is called an initial public offering, or IPO.

India’s market regulator, SEBI, has approved the proposed sale.

That approval lets NSE take the final steps toward becoming a publicly listed company.

The possible IPO could be worth about ₹30,000 crore.

It would involve selling existing shares rather than creating new ones.

The money would go to the shareholders selling the shares, not to NSE.

The exchange first filed IPO papers in 2016, but its plans were delayed by a regulatory case and changes in leadership.
