Advocates and Residents Debate Belapur Court Barricades

Advocates and Residents Debate Belapur Court Barricades

Barricades are placed at a road turn near Belapur court.

They stop some drivers from turning directly toward the court.

Drivers then have to travel about 1.5 kilometres to make a U-turn.

Advocates say this adds time and makes reaching the court harder.

A residents’ association says the barricades help reduce traffic jams.

Some residents suggest putting them in place only at busy times and on weekends.

The traffic department and the city corporation may need to discuss who would move and store them.

Officials have not yet decided what to do.
