Delhi Ration Dealers Face FIRs For Major Stock Discrepancies

Delhi has created new rules for shops that distribute ration.

The rules explain exactly what can happen when a shop’s stock does not match its records.

A shortage of 25 to 50 kilograms can cost the dealer ₹2,000.

A shortage of 50 to 100 kilograms can also lead to a temporary licence suspension.

A shortage of more than 100 kilograms requires an FIR, which is a formal police complaint.

Dealers can also be punished for tampering with electronic devices, poor storage or rude behaviour.

Repeated or intentional wrongdoing can lead to blacklisting and losing the shop licence.

The new rules replace older rules that did not set fixed penalties for each stock shortage.
