US Envoy Sergio Gor Says India-US Trade Has Incredible Potential
A very important person from America visited India to talk about working together.
His name is Sergio Gor, and he is the US Ambassador to India.
He said that India and America have a lot of potential to help each other.
The two countries buy and sell many things, and their trade has grown a lot.
Gor said the rules for trade should be clear and stable so businesses feel safe.
He also said ideas and inventions should be protected so people are not copied unfairly.
America uses a lot of medicines made in India, which shows they trust each other.
The two countries want to trade even more in the future.
They also want to work together on computers, space, defense, and energy.
Gor believes this friendship can make both countries stronger and richer.
US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor called the India-US economic partnership 'unbelievable and incredible potential' at the IACC National Convention 2026.
Gor urged greater policy predictability in taxation and regulations, stronger intellectual property protections, and trust-based talks on export controls and technology transfers.
Bilateral trade in goods and services has grown from around $20 billion to more than $240 billion over the past two decades.
India and the US have set an ambitious target of raising bilateral trade to $500 billion by 2030.
Around 40% of generic pharmaceuticals used in the US come from India, and AI, defence, energy, and strategic technologies were highlighted as key cooperation areas.
