Haryana Officer Cleared in Corruption Probe
A government officer named Girish Nagpal was suspended from his job in Haryana, India, because someone named Sarwan Kumar Garg accused him of taking bribes.
The government started two investigations, but both found no proof that Nagpal did anything wrong.
The court also stopped the suspension, and the government later took back the suspension order.
Nagpal said Garg was upset because Nagpal had checked Garg's factory and found some problems.
Garg said he would respond to Nagpal's court case.
The next hearing in the court is scheduled for March 19, 2026.
Girish Nagpal, a Deputy Director in the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, was suspended on July 17, 2024, following a complaint by Sarwan Kumar Garg, Chairman of Haryana Gau Seva Aayog.
Two separate inquiries found no evidence to support the corruption allegations against Nagpal, leading to the withdrawal of his suspension on December 4, 2025.
Nagpal alleged that Garg filed a motivated complaint after Nagpal inspected Garg's pesticide factory and found it non-compliant with regulations.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court stayed Nagpal's suspension in September 2024, and the matter is adjourned to March 19, 2026.
Garg has stated he will submit his reply to the High Court, where Nagpal has filed a petition against him.
