UIDAI to Launch School-Based Aadhaar Biometric Updates
The government is making it easier for kids to update their Aadhaar cards.
Aadhaar cards need updated fingerprints and other information to make sure they work correctly.
Right now, many children need to update their cards.
The UIDAI is going to send machines to schools so kids can update their Aadhaar.
This is important so kids can get benefits from government programs.
The first update is required after age 5, the second after age 15.
If you update between ages 5-7 it's free, otherwise, there is a fee.
UIDAI plans to start biometric updates for children through schools.
Over 7 crore children haven't updated their Aadhaar biometrics.
Biometric updates are mandatory after age 5 and again at age 15.
Updates between ages 5-7 are free; a fee applies afterward.
