IIT Madras Develops Quantum Random Number Generator
IIT Madras has invented a special device called a Quantum Random Number Generator, which uses light to create random numbers.
These numbers are vital for keeping information safe in areas like defense and banking.
They've partnered with a company to sell this technology and have sent prototypes to be tested.
This helps secure important data, making sure it stays protected.
IIT Madras created a silicon photonics-based Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG).
An MoU was signed with Indrarka Quantum Technologies for commercial deployment of the QRNG.
The technology is expected to be used in defense, finance, and blockchain.
A prototype was delivered to the Young Scientist Laboratory - Quantum Technologies.
An advanced version of the QRNG module was deployed at SETS Chennai for quantum security applications.
