Pierre Le Gall’s ‘Flesh and Fuel’ Wins Zurich’s Golden Eye

Pierre Le Gall made his first feature film, called ‘Flesh and Fuel.’

It won the top narrative-film prize at the Zurich Film Festival.

The movie is about two truck drivers, one French and one Polish, who fall in love.

Their long journeys and busy work schedules make it hard to spend time together.

The film is in French and Polish and was shot in France and Poland.

The jury praised its reflection on people’s need to connect with one another.

Another award, for best documentary, went to ‘Bucks Harbor’ by Pete Muller.

The festival took place from September 24 to October 4, 2026.
