Shah Accuses Bengal of Aiding Infiltration
Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, said that the West Bengal government is not giving enough land to the Border Security Force (BSF) for building fences along the border with Bangladesh.
He sent seven letters to the Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, but the land has not been provided.
Shah also said that the state government is changing rules to appoint senior officials.
He warned that illegal people coming into the state is a big problem and needs to be stopped soon.
Mamata Banerjee announced plans to build a Mahakal Temple in Siliguri, which some politicians, like Shivraj Singh Chouhan, think is just for getting votes.
The BJP wants to win the next election in West Bengal and says they will stop illegal infiltration and protect the state's culture.
Shah also highlighted issues like corruption, misgovernance, political violence, and women’s safety, claiming that these issues would dominate the BJP’s campaign ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections.
He predicted that the BJP would form the government in West Bengal in 2026 with a two-thirds majority.
Mamata Banerjee responded by accusing the BJP of spreading misinformation and defended her government's actions.
Amit Shah accused West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee of ignoring seven letters regarding land allotment for BSF.
BSF is accused of ineffective border security due to lack of proper fencing.
Shah warned about the serious issue of illegal infiltration changing the state's demography.
He assured that BJP will not have any understanding with parties encouraging illegal infiltration.
Shah accused the West Bengal government of diluting DoPT rules for appointing senior bureaucrats and police officers.
Mamata Banerjee defended her government's actions, claiming land has been allotted for fencing in several locations.
Shah highlighted issues like corruption, misgovernance, political violence, and women’s safety as key campaign issues for the 2026 Assembly elections.
