Putin Warns of All Weapons Over Kaliningrad NATO Tensions

Kaliningrad is a piece of Russia that is separated from the rest of the country.

It lies between Poland and Lithuania, which are NATO members.

Russia says NATO might try to block the territory by air or sea.

NATO says it is not planning such a blockade and that its military activities are defensive.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russia would respond with all the weapons it has if Russian territory were attacked.

He did not specifically say that Russia would use nuclear weapons.

However, some Russian diplomatic missions mentioned nuclear weapons in their warnings.

Military activity around the Baltic Sea has made both sides more suspicious of each other.

Putin says Russia does not plan to attack European countries, while European officials remain concerned about possible Russian military or hybrid pressure.
