Delhi Winter Anti-Pollution Plan Faces Implementation Test

Delhi Winter Anti-Pollution Plan Faces Implementation Test

Delhi has announced a plan to reduce winter air pollution.

The plan includes checking vehicle pollution certificates, limiting dust from roads and construction, and encouraging some people to work from home.

Experts say many of these ideas were also announced in earlier years.

They say the important question is whether officials actually enforce the rules.

Much of Delhi’s pollution may come from nearby states and areas outside the city.

That means Delhi cannot solve the problem by itself.

Experts also want attention on factories, power plants, waste, and pollution-forming gases.

They say pollution must be reduced throughout the year, not only during winter.
