Ladakh Launches India's First Snow Leopard Safari at 10,000 Feet

A new safari adventure is starting in Ladakh, a high mountain region in India.

People can now go on a safari to look for snow leopards, rare big cats that live high up in the mountains.

This is India's first safari created just for snow leopards.

The safari takes place at about 10,000 feet, which is very high above sea level.

The leader of Ladakh, Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, approved the plan.

A new group called the SHAN Conservation Society will help guide the project.

Forest experts will find the best paths, or safari routes, through the mountains.

These routes will pass through beautiful protected areas like Hemis National Park and the Changthang Wildlife Sanctuary.

Visitors may also see many birds and other animals on the trip.

The idea is to let people enjoy wild nature while spotting snow leopards safely.
