MGNREGA Funds Prioritized for Water Conservation Efforts
The government is using money from a program that helps people find jobs (MGNREGA) to save water.
They plan to spend a lot of this money on projects that help store water, especially in areas where there isn't much water.
The money will go to places that need it most to make sure everyone has enough water.
They are also focusing on rainwater harvesting.
This is part of a bigger plan to make sure there will always be enough water for the future.
MGNREGA funds are being directed towards water conservation efforts.
65% of the MGNREGA budget will be allocated for water conservation in water-stressed areas.
40% of funds will be spent in 'semi-critical' water blocks.
The initiative was launched jointly by the Rural Development and Jal Shakti Ministries.
This policy prioritizes water conservation to ensure water security.
