Friends Transform Barren Village Into Oasis with Pond
Two friends, seeing that a village had trouble with water, decided to build a big pond.
They collected money from people who wanted to help.
It took them four years, but they did it!
The pond is like a giant puddle where rainwater collects.
The villagers can now get water easily.
They also use the water to grow crops, raise animals, and fish.
Before, the land was dry, but now it's full of life.
Two friends created a water body in Katjol village after observing water scarcity.
The pond, spanning 21 bighas, provides water for the village's 170 families.
Rs 75 lakh was raised through donations to fund the pond's construction.
The project took four years, with trees preserved by building platforms around them.
The pond has boosted local income through fishing and encouraged farming.
