Jharkhand Engineering Student Assaulted in Alleged Ragging Incident
A college student in Jharkhand was badly hurt by older students after he complained about their behavior.
He said the older students were using mean language and acting like they were in charge, and when he spoke up, they attacked him.
He's now in the hospital with injuries.
The student says this kind of bullying, called 'ragging,' is common at the college, where younger students have to be extra polite and follow strict rules set by older students.
The college principal says this is the first serious incident, but the police are investigating the situation.
A first-year engineering student was assaulted by senior students at Ramgarh Engineering College.
The attack occurred after the student objected to abusive language used by seniors during ragging.
The student was allegedly beaten with objects and sustained injuries.
Police have filed an FIR against six students based on the victim's complaint.
The college principal denies that ragging is a widespread issue.
