SAD Seeks Governor's Help for Majithia's Security
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has asked the Governor of Punjab to help keep Bikram Singh Majithia safe in jail.
Majithia is a former minister who is currently in jail for a case about having too many assets.
The SAD leaders say that the government is not doing enough to protect him, even though there are reports that a group called Babbar Khalsa International might try to harm him.
They also say that putting more cameras in his cell is not necessary and violates his rights.
The SAD leaders met with the Governor to discuss this and asked for his help to ensure Majithia's safety.
SAD leaders met Punjab Governor to seek intervention for Bikram Singh Majithia's security.
Majithia is currently jailed in Nabha Jail, Patiala, for a disproportionate assets case.
SAD alleges threat to Majithia's life from Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).
Additional cameras installed in Majithia's cell are alleged to be an 'eyewash' and a violation of his rights.
SAD claims the AAP government is not taking effective steps to ensure Majithia's safety.
